The gold collection pays tribute to the ceremonial robe of Queen (King) Tamar, depicted on the fresco at St Mary Church in Vardzia cave. The queen’s violet attire showcases strips of pearls and is complemented with delicately embroidered ornaments, typical for Georgian architecture. Our creative team was also inspired by the collar of the robe (‘maniac’) as well as the vertically positioned textile - lorum. Both the ‘maniac’ and lorum are richly decorated in pearls and precious stones. Therefore, to match the grandeur of the costume, our jewelers used cold enamel and natural stones - amethyst, London blue topaz, and pearls. In this sumptuous collection, Zarapxana once again revives history and successfully conveys the aesthetic of the powerful ruler.
